So I started running again…

Posted: May 26, 2010 by piraterunner in FOOD, run

I did it 3 times last week not great, but I’ll take good. Hope everyone had a nice long weekend! It was hard to run while at the cottage making Chourico (that’s portuguese sausage) I was up to the elbows in intestines

Stella helped too!!!!

And let me tell you they were yum!!!!

So once Glen was able to strap on my runners and roll me out the door I was hoping to do my long run for the week, around 13km.

These lululemon leggings are a kudoos to Brett Micheals winning Apprentice (I didn’t actually watch the show, but I do feels like I’m in a 80’s hair band when I wear them!)

I love to run by water!!!!!

Not sure if it was the beer or sausage consumed this weekend but this plane was starting to look good to hotwire. I don’t want any convictions before the trip so I just decided to run back.

Hope this isn’t an omen, but I found a turtle in the lake the girls named him Squirt. Guido wants to keep him as a pet.

So tell me how your running is going.

On your mark, get set….blog!!!

What can I say. I am easily influenced. Not only has Trish convinced me to run a 1/2 marathon, she is also getting me to blog about it! She must have known she’d have me convinced when she tied a pirate theme to the run. Not only was one of my bachelorette parties sailor/pirate themed but a certain inflatable parrot seems to be present during many important moments in my life. (Carlos will be with us in Disneyland. Inflated or not…to be decided)

I have to  admit as scared as I am, I am starting to get excited for run in September. Maybe, it’s because it’s in Disneyland or it could be that Brad are I will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We were married on September 5th, 2009. Such a romantic way to celebrate, don’t you think?

Or it could just be that I have no idea what I am getting myself into. The closest thing I have ever done is the 60km Walk to End Breast Cancer. Where running was not only frowned upon, but was absolutely not allowed. The distance has to count for something though.

Lisa (a fellow piraterunner) her niece Kelsey and I taking a break during our 60km walk.

My hope is that this blog will become daily motivation as well as a way to track not only my own training and progress, but also a way to follow the journey of my fellow pirate runners! To end my first post ever on my first blog ever I have included a quote from two very handsome pirates that is very appropriate for the journey I am about to take.  SB

Will Turner: This is either madness… or brilliance.
Captain Jack Sparrow: It’s remarkable how often those two traits coincide.

good day!

For my first post I would like to get a few things straight.

1. I am not a pirate

2. No one REALLY likes running

3. This half marathon will be a blast

It is the 14th of May. I am 8 weeks away from my first Sprint Traithlon and 16 weeks away from the half marathon.

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got to give for now.

I promise my next post will be more interesting.

Peas. I’m out.
